California zero-emission forklift reporting guidance makes 2026 a practical planning year for fleets that operate LPG and other large spark-ignition forklifts. The transition question is not simply which truck to replace first. Operators need an accurate inventory, utility engagement, duty-cycle evidence and a safe interim plan for equipment that remains in service.
A reliable equipment decision starts with a route and task survey. Record the narrowest aisle and turn, doorway and gate width, overhead clearance, maximum gradient, dock or pavement edges and the worst surface condition. Measure real loads at their actual load centers, including long, offset or irregular items. Rated capacity is only a starting point; residual capacity at the required height and with the selected attachment determines application fit.
Reporting exposes the gap between fleet lists and real operating data. LPG forklifts may still cover peak shifts, outdoor transfers or sites awaiting electrical upgrades. Managers should document model, class, rated capacity, powertrain and primary location while avoiding unsupported assumptions about replacement timing.

Include operator time, maintenance, tyres, energy or fuel, infrastructure, transport between sites, downtime risk and resale value.
